Im Oracle Locator sollte die*der Nutzende analog zur Funktion "Dateitypkonsistenz prüfen" bei Aktivierung der Oracle Spatial Speicherung unter "Gesamtes Projekt" und "Fachschalen" über einen zusätzlichen Dialog "Wollen Sie die Oracle Spatial Speicherung aller Objekttypen des Projektes bzw. der ausgewählten Fachschale starten? Die Aktion kann mehrere Stunden dauern." o.ä. die Möglichkeit haben, die Aktion abzubrechen.
Hintergrund: Auch wenn die SDO-Geometriespeicherung nur für einen Objekttyp deaktiviert ist, werden bei der Auswahl des Projektes bzw. einer Fachschale die SDO-Geometrien aller Objekttypen neu gespeichert.
This idea has been reviewed by the product team, and our conclusion is that there is already a warning, plus the function is only used by administrators who are experienced users of this functionality. Changing the current behaviour is therefore not justified.
In situations where not all sisNET object types are selected for storage in Oracle Spatial, the function still re-creates the indexes of all object-tables. We do this to ensure that all tables stay aligned and indexed with the latest data. This indexing takes most of the time to run the Oracle Spatial storage function. Leaving a few object types out of the storage will therefore not save much time.
